Eileen Suchanek – Owner / “Leader of the Pack”
I live on Stone House Road (north of the Elephant Hotel) & work as a Real Estate Agent with Prudential Holmes & Kennedy in Somers. Because of my love of Somers, my focus for this business is in the Town of Somers. One of my loves is being involved with pet rescue groups. I am currently very involved with the New England English Springer Spaniel Rescue Group (NEESSR). I foster Spaniels & assist in their adoption process. I work with local shelters & different organizations to facilitate transporting of shelter dogs to foster homes. We all share in their well being prior to adoption. My Spaniel Ellie, was one of my first fosters, who I fell in love with and adopted. Her sibling Lucy, has been with me since she was 8 weeks old. I am a member of the Westchester NY Disaster Animal Response Team (DART), which was organized nationally in response to hurricanes, tornadoes, hazardous-materials incidents, floods, fires, earthquakes and other disasters that threaten the animals/companions, who are so important in our lives. Members help their community be better prepared to rescue and shelter animals when a disaster or crisis happens in their community or across the country. I volunteer at the Westchester SPCA. I love the interaction with Shelter dogs. What they need is some love and attention and a second chance at life. The days I volunteer, I do whatever is needed. Just being there makes me happy. You can usually find me in the Simpson Clinic on Thursdays. I am in the process of completing the “Training to Adopt” program, which is a program to work with training shelter dogs to prepare them for adoption. I am also Red Cross certified in Pet CPR/First Aid. I have worked with several trainers over the past few years in order to better help prepare fosters for adoption. Through no fault of their own, their previous living condition or horrific incidents might have “altered” their personalities. Usually all they need is love and patience to bring them out of their “shell” and back to their loving self. It is amazing that most of these dogs hold no grudges against people. In my “former” life I worked in the Fashion Industry, Union Carbide and IBM Somers. I finally decided to leave "Corporate America" to pursue some of my dreams. I currently work as a Real Estate Agent in Somers for Prudential Holmes & Kennedy. Peggi Weissgerber – Dog Walker / Sitter
I am currently a volunteer for the Putnam Humane Society and member of Guiding Eyes for the Blind. My passion is evident by my love for dogs. You can find me walking around Town with my 10 year old Bichon, Jonah and many of my dog clients. |
I live in Somers & started this business in response to my Real Estate Clients (who were moving to Somers) asking me to recommend someone to walk/sit their dog. They knew of my involvement with many pet organizations and my total devotion and caring of these wonderful companions. 
I have been a resident of Somers for 23 years and currently work part time at Tusker Peanuts, where I have been for 16 years. I also live on Stone House Road which is a "perfect fit" logistically.
