A DOG'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Remember to include me in your life plans.

2. Any separation from you will be painful for me. Make sure I have an ID tag & license so we can be reunited.

3. Give me time to understand what you want me to do. Do you realize that dogs speak a different language than humans? Let's go to school together & learn how to inderstand each other.

4. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well being & will help us form a strong bond.

5. I need regular exercise. Let's go for a walk daily. It will benefit both of us.

6. Have me spayed or neutered. There are more than enough unwanted puppies who end up homeless & in shelters. Also, my long term health will benefit.

7. I get sick just like you. Please take me to the vet for regular checkups to prevent illness.

8. Don't be angry with me for long. Don't lock me up or tie me out as punishment. I won't understand this punishment. Remember, you have your work, friends & entertainment. I ONLY HAVE YOU.

9. Take care of me when I get old...for one day, you too, will get old.

10. Go with me in difficult journeys. Never say "I can't watch" or "Do it after I'm gone. Everything is easier if you are with me.
